I was born in Morocco.
As a child, I joined a Zionist youth movement which proved to be good preparation for the pioneering lifestyle of my first years in Israel. Afterwards, I studied linguistics ans sociology. I taught secondary school Hebrew to new immigrants and, at the same time, worked with urban street gangs. From 1980 - 1990, I studied painting at Jerusalem's Betzalel Fine Arts.
In 1992, I went to Paris and studied painting at the Grande Chaumiere Academy. Also at this time, I learned lithography techniques at the ADAC workshops and came under the influence of current new wave trends in art.
From 1998 - 2000, I lived in the village of Sainte Marguerite du Lac Masson in the Quebec Laurentians. During that time, two of my paintings were exhibited at the Prevost Train Station (a community centre) along with works by other artists.
In July 1999, I had a month-long solo exhibit at the same centre, featuring landscape paintings and Paris lithographs, both of which were well received.
At the end of october 2001, I moved to Baie-Saint-Paul in the beautiful Charlevoix region ( 90km east of Quebec city) where many artists have settled.
From June 24 to July 29, 2001, my works shown at Baie-Saint-Paul's Rene Richard Municipal Library as part of an exhibition entitled "Between Representation and Illusion".
The leitmotif of these paintings, the immensity of the Canadian forests is here interpreted in an abstract manner by means of the "dripping" technique. Also, during the summer of 2001, three of my paintings were part of a collective exhibition "Panorama 2001" at the Baie-Saint-Paul Arts Centre.
From early November 2001 to the end of April 2002, I made two extended trips to Israel and Provence, devoted primarily to painting. In April 2002, I took part in a grop exhibition in Rayol-Canadel-Sur-Mer on the Côte d'Azur.
